As Houstonians gather to help Hurricane Harvey victims recover from the flood, 11-year-old Brooke Cobb is working to get them back on their feet — in a new pair of shoes.
The Plano, Texas girl has set a goal to contribute 250 pairs of new shoes to those who have lost belongings in floodwater.
Cobb founded Harvey Souls, as well as a crowdfunding page, to gather
As of Tuesday, she’d raised more than 150 pairs of shoes for people of all ages, and $665 out of her $1,000 goal to put toward more shoe purchase.
“Dear North Texas, Houston needs our help!” she writes in a flier on her page. “Let’s join together to assist with the relief efforts for those in need. My goal is to contribute 100 pairs of new shoes. Any size or gender will help! All shoes will be dropped off at Prestonwood Baptist Church and loaded on there trucks to be sent Houston!”
Cobb is asking that all donations be made at the Prestonwood Baptist Church at 6801 W. Park i Plano, Texas. The church is set up to accept pairs of shoes Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
